MAJOR RESTRICTIONS

OK, FOR ALL MY STUDENTS OUT THERE, LISTEN UP...

LOVE YOUR FREEDOM!

China puts restrictions on what their people can access on the internet. I cannot veiw my blog, I can only edit it. And, I cannot post any pictures to it. I can't even view the web cam for my dogs at Camp Bow Wow.

I am terribly disappointed, and sorry, you all won't be able to see this trip as it happens. However you can gurantee, that this is going to call for at least a day of looking at pictures and talking about this trip when I get back to the classroom :-)

For now, everyone be safe, work hard, and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

I'll see you next Monday.

Holy Cow I'm in China!

Well after only a small delay in my flight schedule, I have arrived. I am staying in an apartment complex called the Mandarin City and it looks very much like an apartment complex you might find in the states. However I have learned that the people in this area make a pretty decent living.

Yesterday we walked to the subway station, it took us about 20 min. As westerners we would have usually tken a cab for such a walk, but if this were our home we would have taken a bike or a moped. Everyone rides bikes...

Last Winter

Did you know that bubbles will freeze if it is cold enough outside? Last winter, on one of those days well below zero, I took my neice and nephew out to blow bubbles. If you could get it to hang around for a second, they broke like glass. BrRR!

Woo! Look at all that hot air :-)

I'm actually looking foward to some really cold days this winter to try it again.

Last Summer

I took this picture over the summer. It's a katydid. I could actually see his little mandible moving. After this picture, he decided to climb onto my camera!
